All of our qualified Dental Nurses, Hygienist and Dentists are GDC registered. We adhere to the General Dental Council's guidance, standards for Dental professionals.
Duncan Thomas BDS DGDP (UK)

Duncan is the principal dentist. He qualified from Newcastle in 1990 and gained the Diploma in General Dental Practice in 1998 through the Royal College of Surgeons. As well as an interest in orthodontics and occlusion (how teeth meet together), Duncan is also a Foundation Programme Advisor for the Northern Deanery, Duncan is a director of Northumbria Dental Care Ltd. the body which owns Amble Dental Practice and holds the NHS contract.

Katy, who graduated from Newcastle in 2005, spent four years working at Newcastle Dental Hospital and in Ashington before joining us here in Amble. She obtained her MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2007. Katy has been furthering her interest in advanced restorative techniques by attending advanced courses around the country over the past few years. Katy is also a vocational trainer and is responsible for mentoring newly qualified dentists.

Rachel qualified from Newcastle in 1995. She gained the Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 2000 through the Royal College of Surgeons. She spent 2 years in general practice before joining the RAF Dental Branch and served at several RAF and Army bases dotted all over the world for 10 years.

Emma qualified from Newcastle in 2008. She worked for us for 2 years after qualifying. She then spent a year working at the Newcastle RVI in the Regional Head and Neck Trauma Centre as a Maxillofacial Senior House Officer. She now also works at the Newcastle Dental Hospital in the emergency clinic. Emma enjoys all aspects of dentistry especially surgery and treating children.
